172 cutting out

hello girls and boys.i have just read a post a few seconds ago regarding the idle control valve. and the problem seems very simular to the one i have. when i accelerate hard or. . . well less than leasurly, and then i coast, sometimes my 172 will just cut out. no stalling judder or anything just stops. does this sound like the idle control valve? just need somone in the know to piont me in the right dirction. thanx

Not in my case...I repalced it..

Had a consultation with some friends...and one actually had a same problem...only solution seems to be to change the complete throttle body..

Mine did the same. I replaced the ICV and cleaned the throttle body. It works fine now and has been normal for about six months. I suspect it was a faulty ICV. When fitting a new valve it has to be calibrated.
