172 Delay in cranking over

Can anyone help... my 172 has always had this issue where there is about a 1-2 sec delay from when you turn the key to when the starter motor starts to turn. I only mention this now as I've recently drove 2 clio 182s and there is no delay on either of them. Any ideas??

i know on mine if you put the key in and try crank it straight away it has a slight delay.

Try just letting all the ignition lights come on then wait a few seconds then turn the key again to start it

As above, if you wack the key in then go all the way to starting there is a delay.

I usually put key in turn ignition on, put seatbelt on, then start the car.

Mines the same, doesnt bother me tbh, it still starts.
