172 electric window parts.

Hi all,
I have a Mk1 172 and the drivers electric window mechanism broke on sat.
I've had a look and it seems to be the white plastic part that fits onto the window runner that the cable is attached to.
Anyone know where I can find seperate parts as the dealer wants silly money for the motor assembly etc.
Also how does the white plastic part hold in place in the window runner?

Any advice will be welcome on parts or fitting / mending.

You need to replace the whole motor as silly as it sounds for just a clip, part was quoted to me at £201 by Renault but the best bet is to get it the part yourself (eBay etc) and fit it yourself.

Seen on another post someone managed to get the part from GSF so will try them.
Sounds like a real pain to fit though?

Easy to fit. If you have got the door trim off then there is no reason why you can't do this yourself.

It all becomes much clearer when you have a non-broken one...

Use Fubar's guide to remove the door card and it should be fine.

Got one form GSF for £78 all in! Renault part with stickers on the packaging!
Saved me £120!!

Now I have the complete part it does make more sense. Will I have to slide the window out or just lift it up out the way to fit the new assembly?
