172 engine in a valver

Car  clio 172 sport
hi ppl does any1 know if you can put a 172 in a valver?has any1 done it,and know how hard it is?any help would be grateful

It has been done, think the wiring is meant to be a b**ch. Personally I would just go for a willy engine, straight swap and just as tuneable.

just wanted to put a newer engine in than a willy engine, thinkin about makin a stripped out racer

Not sure the hillpower one is finished

Theres was a white one being done in france but that was about 2 years ago now

By all accounts it was a total nightmare

Everything can be done, the only difference is how much work will you have and how much money you have to spend.

If you were in Croatia I could give you 3-4 addresses where that can be done

is there any links to pics of hillpowers conversion on here?

There are some on Williamsclio.co.uk, a foreign conversion thought not Hillpowers.

Another fella from Darwen, dont suppose you own the cup I see everyday on my way to work on Pole Lane, Sett End area?

the engine will fit in mint and if you put it on stand alone manegement you can then get rid of all the problem bits like fly by wire and and you can get rid of most of the wiring and it would be alot more tuneable that way

I've seen & read about that french valver with the 172 engine in it, as said - it was a total b**ch to do. I think it involved a lot of cutting of stuff.

The actual car it's in looks like a heap though. I think they also put the interior in it too (I may have got that bit wrong though) but i've definately seen a valver with a 172 (mk2) dash in it & seats !

Might be worth a drive over - cheaper labour and all that ;) lol

Much cheaper than in UK :)
But in Croatia we have another problem, most of parts you want to but you need to order and wait for them for more than 4 weeks becouse our lousy, so called, tuning shops :(
