172 head??

So i bumped into the orig owner of my car the other day and he told me that the head thats in my ph1 172 is called an RS head. He said its the one with the larger ports at the top instead of the one with the smaller ports that comes with the car from the dealer??

Now i actually have no idea what the hell he is talking bout, does this make any sence to you guys?? the car was bought by him and modded in 2002..

ph1's have larger exhaust ports and the head is designed for an NA engine where as the ph2's are based on the vel satis turbo head iirc
Maybe thats what he was on about

maybe he means the rs inlet manifold, some of the later 172's have the, they are a little bit bigger on the port side of things.

Only the later phase 2 though many of the earlier phase 2's have the old head as such.
