172 insurance

  Megane r26
Right ladies and gentlemen i have decided to put the saxo up for sale and buy myself a 172 from work due to there wide range on off and the unmissable deal they are doing for me on 1. Now i am currently 19 years of age 2years driving experience 1 years ncb (clean licence still!). Now the bets quote for insurance i have had is jus over 1700 now any of u know any other good companys 2 try

  RB 200 Cup!
moneysupermarket.com was a good comparison site

I'd be happy with that price mate to be honest. I can't get any cheaper than that with anyone.

i had that quote off money supermarket still havent rang my current insurer who i have bin with 4 nearly 18 months quinn direct

  LY V6 with Recaros
As above, Admiral, Elephant and Bell are usually the cheapest for younger drivers. Adding a parent to the policy should make it go down a bit too.

£1700 TPFT?
Thats silly money, I'll be paying about £1800 FC in total for a 182, but got transfer fees etc. Thats 19, 2NCB, 3 points. All in my own name.

Jesus thats a lot to pay i don't want to pay more than £2k, do you have your parents on your policy as named drivers to bring it down ?

What risk is your postcode ?

Im 19 years old with 2 years NCB clean licence in southend on sea and got 1600 fully comp in my name on a 182 with Adrian flux

If you say you are part of a members club it drops your premium down a bit

Also strangely, if i fitted an air filter on my car it dropped the quote by £300 as they could class it as a modified vehicle?

Hope that helps:)

i think its possible for everyone who is 19 on here to get insured for around 1800 quid (with 2y ncb) just need to shop around and do some haggling..

for my 1.2 they wanted 1500. i said i found it alot cheaper so know for a fact they can do better than that. after some policy tweaks and some generocity i got it down to 900 quid.

money grabbers

Modified insurance is cheaper with Flux, fact.

Changing to a 182 soon, and for a standard one the extra I needed to pay on top of my current policy on the Lupo was just under £600.

After buying a car with different wheels, exhaust and suspension to declare then only want about £470 on top.

So in total I'll be paying about £1800 all in.

Thats Fully Comp with breakdown cover, mods declared and covered. I'm 19, 2NCB, 3 points SP30, in a middle of the road postcode rating thing.

Basically, ring flux and get a quote for a standard one. Then get a quote for one with an upgrade air filter (panel filter will do, £40) and it should drop your quote £200+. Depending on what you pay in the first place.
