172 max bhp???

Hi there, i have recently just bought a 2000 172 and i think its a brill car!!! Im just wondering whats the max bhp that you can take it to? Just curious at this moment

P.S. does 17" wheels hinder the performance much? As im still riding on the standard 15"

to get over 200bhp you will need a lot of work (cams ect..). 17" dont make too much of a difference unless ur on track. enjoy your car mate.

Thats why i seriously doubt my rolling road figures. Got 203 bhp from just normal mods with out cams or itbs etc...hmmm. lol

I would imagin performance would be noticably less though on 17s..... just a guess.

well i got it dyno'd today n its reading out 165bhp, bt im not sure if thats normal or not (not used to this yet, just starting off). it goes great but i was just wondering cuz i was considering adding an induction kit n getting a remapwhich ive been told wud get me an extra 20-30bhp

i was told that an induction kit cud give me roughly abt 10bhp and a remap cud give me 10-15bhp.

Inlet match can be good on 172s and remap plus free up exhaust flow and maybe just a panel filter over IK. Well, thats the route i took anyway.

i replaced my standard exhaust with a stainless cat back exhaust, so im toying with the idea of a remap but dnt want to if its not goin 2 do much, cud b spent else wer, wud they go quicker than a starlet?

Yes, but its not cheap. Id class it as 2nd stage tuning lol

Yep, their nippy to about 60 but you should have him beyond that, if not before anyway.

Stock throttle bodys fine in size no need to change it.

Regards max power 350 is about the limit N/A turbo well no real limit but your getting into relems of what originalis deemed as being.

I know one owner who says he has the bottom end built to take it. but the top end would need more money spending on it to make it do it.

Your talking 12k rpm.

Yozzasport about the uickers on here with stock N/A engine at about 240hp there a few turbos with over 300hp.

Don't forget the Honda 2.0 get serious Hp numbers when tunned.
