172 MK1 Tuning advice please !

Hey, I'm from Israel...

Looking for ways to tune engine power output...
to the best of my knowledge I have a chip, so what else can I do...?

I got 17" rims so I'm lacking a bit of power, as oppose to 15".

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much...

But I would still like to hear from guys hwo did some sort of HP improvement...

thanks alot.

hi there, a vast improvement is gained by geting the inlet manifold ported. due to the casting being rubbish, means good gains are achieved. I did this on mine(along with a relocated air filter and a sports exhaust)and on a drag race i was leaving all other 172's and 182's

One of the most popular, and cost effective, mods on the F4R engines seems to be a ported/matched inlet manifold. It produces good gains and is relatively cheap. Other good mods include replacing the standard exhaust system (including the catalytic converter).

Couple with the correct ECU change/remap this could see you with as much as 10 extra bhp.
