Hi, welcome to the club I would suggest with the rims to stay with 15/16" if your after performance, there are so many things you can do to the engine such as cams, exhuasts etc. Try www.k-tecracing.com, www.bbperformancetuning.com or searching the forum for Yozzasport, GDI etc (can't remember the other names lol)
hi there, a vast improvement is gained by geting the inlet manifold ported. due to the casting being rubbish, means good gains are achieved. I did this on mine(along with a relocated air filter and a sports exhaust)and on a drag race i was leaving all other 172's and 182's
One of the most popular, and cost effective, mods on the F4R engines seems to be a ported/matched inlet manifold. It produces good gains and is relatively cheap. Other good mods include replacing the standard exhaust system (including the catalytic converter).
Couple with the correct ECU change/remap this could see you with as much as 10 extra bhp.
