172 Oil Change

Anybody managed to change the oil on a 172? oOt much room to move around, is there a nack of doing it?

Thats the gearbox oil isnt it though?

When you change the filter, take the fuel rail cover off, its only two bolts and it makes the oil filter loads easier to get off gives you a bucket more room.

Done it last night. Was a piece of piss even with a "stuck" filter, just tapped it round with a big flat head and rubber mallet.

I went for Silkolene Pro S oil 5W40 and you can tell its better than what was in there, ticks over ALOT quieter now.
