172 or 182?

  Iceberg 172
Ph2 172 ftw. 182's have s**t exhausts and all the clios are useless on the motorway so god knows when you'd use cc.

The cup is nice but no difference on the road... Apart from the no abs... Search my threads for one called "just had a crash"... I'm sure if I was in my new 172 it would have been called "just had a near miss".

I drove from Aberdeen to London and back (1100mile trip) and used the CC a fair bit. Clio was fine on the motorway.

Rarely use it up here as we don't have motorways.

Two piece shaft on the drivers side, unlike the 172 Cup which only has a 1 piece shaft. Stick your head under your car and have a squint.

Ok, so hows that work then? How can they be 'equal length' when the gearbox is located N/S, genuine question btw?

The drivers side shaft is in two parts. Short part that comes out from the box and is connected to rear of engine. From here a shaft similar in length to the passenger item goes down to the wheel.

Couldn't find a Clio example but here's a Vauxhall setup:

Left flange to gearbox, braket to engine and then right side to wheel. Similar goings ons under the bonnet of a 182 from what I can see.
