172 or 182

Some of you may have seen my intro. I am going to be selling my focus up in the summer and getting a clio. BUT I cant decide on wether to get a 172 or 182 and I could do with some explaining on the differences between the sport and cup etc.

I will have a budget of around 4/5k depending on how much I get for my car. I want one in v good condition with below 50k on the clock. I do love the exhaust on the 182 but then the 172 seems more easily changed. I would probably only want to get windows tinted get coilovers and maybe a new exhaust other than that would leave pretty standard. Maybe a new headunit with sub in boot????

I was in a similar position, sold my focus and was undecided between 172 or 182! Ended up with a 172 cup, haven't had an ounce of regret, I love it!

Yeah? As I cant imagine a clio being even half as reliable as my focus but then again. My focus is now 12 years old and if I was to get a 05 clio im sure it would have to be more reliable??? And a lot quicker

I faced the same decision, test drove 2 182's and a phase 1, then decided on a cup.... If I had to make the same decision now, I'd choose the cup again.

You'll get a beautiful example for that money and have a good wedge in your pocket still.
