I'd go K-tec but that's only as I personally am happy with mine.

Not raspy after it's been on the car for a while

GDi one seems the best all rounder but for some reason not that many folk seem to have one.
Why is that?? :S

On paper they look the best all rounder, deep sound not raspy, decent quality?, decent price, power gain, not silly loud

People tend to just get what "their mates" recommend them to get on here without any real thought themselves by the looks of things. I'm happy with my system, it's not that loud (although it is louder now standard... go figure) and gave a notable performance gain and looks exactly how I wanted. Cant believe Pro Speed aren't getting more of a mention too though, their work is also WELL above average quality and well priced.

Ktec systems I dont like though, Laura had their old one and it was falling to bits and it was raspy. The new ones are better quality I hear, but I dont like rasping F4's, they sound s**t. F7 gets away with it, but not the F4's, sounds like sustained farting

Laura's wasn't a stealth sytem so you can't compare the sound as the rear silencer is completely different........

Everyone has heard MarkCup's right? Thats a K-Tec stealth with de-cat, sounds lovely.

I have not seen any of these vids going around but I have not heard a raspy Stealth and I have heard more stealth systems fitted than just about anyone. If you remove one of the silencers from the system (cat or mid pipe) and replace it with a straigth through section you will get a raspy note from any system on a 172 (that I have heard anyway). Our system keeps a centre section for this very reason and does not sound raspy at all.

I have video recorded many systems and if the microphone is not very good, or on the wrong setting, the exhaust sounds terrible and nothing like what it sounds like in the metal. We hope to have some video clips on our revamped website over the coming weeks. I have also never had a single customer call us to say his exhaust sounds raspy, in fact this is the brief we most commonly get asked for:

I would like a sporty sounding exhaust for my 172 (as the standard exhaust has just fallen off) that is hidden and does not sound raspy like a like a Vauxhall Corsa and does not drone at motorway cruising speeds. We have fulfilled these requests dozens of times without a single negative comment from a customer so our exhausts must be exactly what they are after.

Mine is tosh! The hanger doesn't support the system at all and eventually snapped off the backbox. I had to tack weld the joint from backbox to centre section to stop it from twisting down too.

I think F4 engines sound poop whatever exhaust you put on (compared to V6s & 8s anyway).
