The 182 has a free-er flowing exhaust than the 172, but Id be interested to see how much 182s make on the RR.

To guarantee 180bhp or over, youll be needing headwork if not cams I think. The standard induction and exhaust mods wont get you that far - and most chips gain very little on an NA engine considering the outlay.

Not an expert opinion, but someone else more Yoda-like will soon add something.

the smt6 added the most power for my engine, it just got the car running right. But it works best if you have the other mods done first.

So whats smt6 mate? a chip of some description? Inlet manifold doesnt sound to hard to fit either...what one do i use?

Wheres BenR when you need him. SMT6 is a piggy back chip.. bullies the Renault ECU a bit to get more power.

Dont know much about the inlet manifold Im afraid, specialists take them off, regrind them and make sure they match up perfectly with summat else in your engine... cant go into anymore detail, as Im a bit spasticated with engine talk.

you can can get a 10hp gain (approx) if you use a viper + exhaust and an SMT-6

the 172 uses a 4-1 manifold

the 182 uses a 4-2-1 manifold which is awesome

And i forgot to mention my car is LHD since im finnish and i live in Finland . And it got alloy bonnet and shift light and only one Cat.

thats the Catalitic converters, the mk1 has twin CATS

the manifold is a 4-1 on the mk1 (the manifold is the bit between the engine and the CAT)
