172 Question.

Why does the 172 have coloured brush marks all over various parts of the engine/ car. I think this is on all of them as i looked at a few before buying as i was paranoid that the first car i saw was a collection of spares from a scrapyard!! lol. Does anyones not have this????

Glad someone elses has it!! min has it on the door latch as well!! Only place ive noticed it outside the engine bay.

I think its probably a PDI or factory checklist - Dab of paint when checked, just to make sure everythings been done.

I have got little blue blobs all over the engine on various bits.

They only use yellow on the 200BHP variants.

Mine has mainly yellow but also blue. HAs anyone tried removing it from the top of the engine??? It wont budge!!!

Id love to know what they mean - im sure its some sort of PDI/quality control (Did I say QC?) but would be interesting if its benck tesing etc

Is it a difference between UK sourced and imports? Mine is UK sourced and has the dots. Just wondering.

hey paddy....I thought RED was the sign of POWER!!!!.

You might be able to track down the kwality controller that checked ur car, by the colour of his dot.

I had Mr Blue....who to be fair has done a bladdy good job, now Mr Yellow on the other hand has got really wonky vision - and couldnt stick a renaultsport badge on to save his life!! LOL
