172 release bearing

  F4R'd ITB'd '92 cup racer
am i right in thinking the 172's had a problem with release bearing failing (normally somewhere around the 60k mark?)

im sure i have read it on here a few times

only reason i ask is that i ordered a clutch fork and release bearing (come as a kit) from renault and when it arrived at the main dealer the parts guy rang me and said 'they have sent the clutch fork but the packaging has been ripped open and the bearing removed' he ordered another one and exactly the same happened :S

when he rang the supplier they said the bearing had been superceded (sp?) with another one and they would send one out

maybe they have produced a better release bearing?
