172 Service question.....

just been in a garage to ask about a full service and the bloke wouldnt give me a price as he said it varies on 172s as they may need to take off a manifold to get to the spark plugs?

is this correct?he said there was a change over year for this on the 172s?

by the way its an 03 plate

Inlet manifold yeh..... Makes sense to me? As for the change of year he isnt talking able the cable/electric throttle?

Yeah thats what he said, will have to remove inlet manfold to get to the spark plugs is this correct?

he said if he has to take the manifold off itll be an extra £70 is he talking poo?

I wanna get it serviced in essex colchester area but cant find anyone who really knows what there talking about, was gonna go bb but think they have stopped too now!

If thats to far then try Ren-O-Tec in chelmsford. Cheap and good.

lol inlet manifold off is 10 minute job, i replaced all my spark plugs within 30 mins and never done it before, fubars guide FTW

Cheers for heads up people, cars on 45k had massive service at Rentech last year by previous owner, dont think plugs have been changed, is it just a case of oil, pollen and air filter service?

Since i posted this i looked at fubars guide looks easy probly do that myself, just prefer to have the book stamped up plus need mot too, pants!

have you used Ren-o-tec?in chelms?

I have used them a few times.... So have a few of the essex area boys and girls. If i have time like i said ill go to BenR. If i cant drive the car very far due to a serious problem then i go to Ren-O-Tech.

Think i only need a small service gonna take my car to auto enhance in colchester, Renault specialist see what he says, if not i may try main dealer..............lol
