Took my mk2 172 in for its 24k service this morning and iv just had a phone call from Reno saying that my car has several problems with it:

Baffles gone in exhaust. Quote £450

Some kind of suspension damper has a hole in it and is leaking out grease. quote £70

Brakes need a good clean and overhaul. Quote £45 front £55 rear

Leaking damper needs replacing? Quote £200

Iv decided to let them replace the damper which is leaking grease for £70 but Reno said that they would pay for 60% of it should they be paying for all of it under warrenty or what?

Has anyone else had these problems after 24k?

when my exhaust went they wanted me to pay 20% of it but i refused stating if it doesnt need an MOT for three years the exhaust should last that long and in the end got it changed for nowt. wish i could do that with the tyres.

refuse and kick up a fuss and they should cave in

If you got the car with the full 60k/3yr warranty job Id say they should be doing all of that at their own expense, with the exception of the brake clean.

Sounds pretty s*!t to me that thats all gone wrong in only 24k miles.

My mid section went at 16k, quoted £280 to replace, refused to pay full cost, asked if they would meet me 1/2 way. They ended up paying it all!

It takes the piss really, whats the point of a warrenty if you have to pay for all the stuff that falls apart after a reasonable time.

Renault are the biggest chancers known to man. I like their cars but I really will have to think twice when I get my next car in 3years time.

just been quoted 140 for 24k service and 60 for aircon from renault leeds dixon york wanted 240 and 80 for aircon lol

I got my centre section of exhaust paid for by the dealer as it was still under warranty. Had done 12k, was 8 months old at the time and was an import!

mine got done foc after about 16 months but was done free due to the fact i told them about it months earlier but they said it was fine

Yer cheers for your advice. I think im going to take it back and ask them to pay for the full lot under warranty exept for the drive shaft cv joint which i let them change yesturday. The service came to £186 with the new cv joint so was quite happy with that.

so just a shock absorber and exhaust to be fitted under warranty see how they like the sound of that???
