172 Speedo Sensor part number??

BTW, do you know if the mileage counter will work if the speedo does not work??

No the miliage won't go up, although you've got a Ph2 FF right? There isn't a speedo sensor as its done through the ABS.

Only the Ph1 and the 172 Cup have speedo sensors on the gearbox.

What should I do if I found my speedo sometimes does not work?? Change the ABS sensor??

And how come my garage friend shown me a speedo sensor last weekend?? It is a tube and looks a bit like a plug lead. Also, he told me the sensor is locate at the back of the engine near the exhaust manifold.

Pls help me out with this??

I have a brand new one from renault that i bought last week but then relised it wasnt for my car Opps.

ill take a photo for you and i have the plastic insert that goes intot he box too. If its the same and you want it i will sell you it at a much discounted rate i paid about £34 all in ill sell you it for £25 posted fully boxed with the recitt

The Ph2 100% doesn't have a speedo sensor on the gearbox, if it was on the end of the gearbox then thats the reverse light switch.

Tbh i'm not sure how to progess on it really, theres an ABS sensor on each wheel and I can't 100% remember which one it uses. And if the ABS works then I can't see a problem with the sensor(s).

I think Edde said some early 172 MK2 has the sensor. My Clio is 2001 MK2.
Maybe I should give my garage friend a call tomorrow to make it clear as well.
