172 split undertray HELP!!

my car leaks a little oil, possibly 1 or 2 drops a day, some days after a hot run more.

looked underneath and it looks like my undertray or ssump is split,

could anyone help diagnose this????

you can see the split just underneath the gear linkage bolt

can't tell sod all from that pic, take the undertray off (its only 4 x 10mm bolts)

the boxes leak a little, but thats normal

not in the foam, look directly underneath the bolt on the linkage, the big v shaped split

Yes and thats a split/rip in the foam liner on the undertray it does/means nothing. Its only there so the undertray doesn't rub on the sump.

Have you just changed your oil ? When you dropped the oil some of it might have spilt onto the foam therefore it's dripping a couple of drops everyday .

Mine once got cover in oil when i dropped the oil out of mine ,i couldn't be assed to clean it off so i got a few spots of oil on the floor for a week or two after .

I couldn't see fcuk all in that pic , it was way too dark .

The oil round that area is 99% probably just oil weeping out the gearbox selector linkage and thats normal. You need to check to be sure.

just rip the cover off, it does sod all anyway
