172 Stainless exhaust which one?

  172 Cup
Ive seen a few reports but im stuck as to which one to get, originally i wanted a K-tec stealth, untill i saw the pro speed (cardiff) system. Or i could go for a local exhaust company tourqe technique, or i live nr janspeed!!

Any reccomendations? the car is on 34k so im expecting the exhaust to fall off fairly soon.

I was hoping to get a s/s cat back system but unfortunately no supplier I phoned could fit it to my car for over a week and I need my car on the road by Wed this week :( I've had to choose a standard exhaust instead which isn't so bad anyway, all i'll lose is the extra lifetime and better noise.

Custom s/s cat back system was going cost me £280 fitted.

280quid fitted for a custom isnt bad at all? how much did you end up paying for the original exhaust? ive got a Stealth stainless and its gorgeous! love the clean lines at the rear with no exhaust hanging low or poking out its rather sexy ass! haha :rasp: just remeber that nearly all stainless systems will come with a lifetime warranty so the extra money is defo worth it when looking at replacement costs for an original etc..

my standard fell off at 73k. just had ss cat back blue flame fitted for £325 at blue flame itself. custom jobbie. bit loud on motorway but good on normal roads.

It will fall off, my exhaust did last Thursday :D

Mine went a few weeks ago at about 36k :dead: - so be ready!

I ended up getting std as well since I needed the car back on the road.

The bloody standard exhaust cost me £300 :( Collected the car tonight. It's quite upsetting to know that if I hadn't needed to have the car back this week I could have had a stainless system fitted for £20 less. Flat spots under acceleration are all gone and the car is pulling far smoother. I'd noticed the performance waver a couple of weeks before the exhaust finally fell apart.

RobertCL, how much did you pay for a standard replacement? Kwik Fit would only have cost me £250 but I opted to use a reliable mechanic that I know instead. Not so sure the extra £50 was worthwhile but it's done now.

ah well, the important thing is that you are now back on the road and able to drive etc... the alternative would be to get a stainless and live without your car for a few days, this would mean you would have to seek alternative transport i.e. public  or hire car, so when you factor this into the overall cost the deal you had isnt bad at all, at least you have everything sorted and thats the most important aspect!

Yeah that's very true and the car is needed to get me to the airport and back on wed/thurs this week. I have to say it is running far better than it ever has so I reckon the failing exhaust has been causing some performance issues for a while now.
