172 stub axle (non cup) is it thick or thin type?

I did a search but people seem to be saying a 182 uses a thicker one and a 172 cup a thinner one but can't find info on a non cup 172. So thick or thin stub axle, which is it?

My 51 plate was the thicker 18mm type. Knowing Renault I'd say there is probably no logic to when they changed.

I fitted a phase 1 stub axle and it was the thinner.

172 cup has a thinner stub than a regular 172/182, around 5mm per side
