172 suspension changes

hey guys n gals

from what I heard I m still a bit confused. Some ppl tell me that changing suspension (eg change shocks, lower n spring or wutever) will improve both looks n handling on a phase 2 172 (not cup) but then again I heard some guys from the dealer saying that Clio sport is built like that n should be left like that (he was saying changin suspension in any aspect is goin to alter the original intended deisgn) .... so my real question is ...... which one is correct is it better to change or is it just the looks?

IMO i think its better to lower the car. Even a 15mm drop youll notice less body roll and the car will feel stiffer on the road. It will handle better as well. The technical bods on here will go into details of Physics etc. The ride becomes less comfortable but you can wang it round roundabouts with a big grin on yer face!!!

true that. Just kind of got me thinkin in detail when the guy told me that if i changed the original settings of the car it might upset its chasis intention..... i guess you give a little n u get a little huh?

Well, IMHO fitting Eibach springs is prob the best mod you can do for the money, theyre progressive so the ride, although better, is not any less comfortable, lower, reduces the body roll that is experienced in the 172 (Ok, its not much compared to my old Honda accord, but ...)

Best money you could spend:)
