172 tick tick noise

i have a 172 cup, 53plate, when its idling sometimes there is a ticking noise, when you rev it the frequency increases, it only does it if its been idling for a bit, once its started doing it itll continue to do it when you drive it etc..... then stop randomly....

is it charcol canister?

its where the fuel vapours vent to. its in the front wing

Yeah, gets rid or the fuel vapours. Think its caused by it rattling in its housing etc...

I removed the carbon canister on mine, still ticks though! As far as I can tell, its the fuel injectors... only bad thing about the car is the crap sounding engine, im tempted to get throttle bodies just to make it sound better!
