172 Vs 197 cylinder head

Some of them are just solid engines, my bone stock internally 172 phase 1 engine with just 197 cams and injectors and an rs2 inlet made 212.

it'd be good to have a comparisons of ph1 vs ph2 engines and their outputs. if I remember correctly my old ph1's used to have decent sized exhaust ports vs the later heads?

My phase 1 172 (2001, 150k, stock bar cat back stainless) - 167bhp
My 182 (2004, 190k at the time, stock bar cat back stainless) - 170bhp

same rollers, similar temps on the days they ran

  V6 255, 172 cup, ph1
From memory the ph1 exhaust ports are actually a little too big aren't they?

Usually the difference is well within the margin of error. You can't really compare dynos with dynos either so they have to be same day, back to back as above.
