172 vs RS 1800

Hi people just had a slight disagreement at college today about the fact that a RS 1800 would not blow the doors off a clio 172 ( did have a MK1 172 for over a year ) . O and this lad thinks that his old Neon V6 ( 16V !!!!!! not 24V ) LOL LOL LOL was faster than the Clio to . Just thought what you people thought of that ???

this the fiesta rs 1800? they are more valver pace than 172 pace, and even then probably handle worse. how old is he? lol i thought the average neon owner was about 104!

LOL yeah its the Fiesta one nice car he gave me a blast in it at lunch and it did feil nice but he would not have it that a and i quote ( sh*tty clio would have it )

RS1800 Fiesta has a poor chassis and around 130bhp, not a chance against the Clio.

But he would not have it . If i only had not sold the Clio LOL : )

He's got a 16V V6? Thats impossible.
The amount of valves don't matter for outright power there a load of other factors.

I said i never thought they did a V6 16V LOL is it not 24V V6 But it was a special one so i was told

An RS1800 against a 172 would have no chance in standard form. It was comparable to my Punto GTT low-down, but once the turbo had spooled up, it was much quicker than the RS.

As for the Neon, does he mean the SR-T version?

your at college and you've owned a 172? when i was at college i drove my mothers shity fiesta popular(r.i.p) and later went on to buy a mini mayfair(r.i.p) that was older than me.

I used to own a mint RS show and shine national day winner with dastek chip and induction with a full magnex exhaust and cat pipe and it made 150 bhp.
I would'nt put it against my 182.
A guy at work has a n reg RS1800 and its no faster than a saxo vtr tbh.
I used to love mine but it was a minter 5 years ago with 28k on the clock....
However it used to handle really well.Standard RS shocks and some spax 40mm springs were the way to go back then.Used to stay with my mate at the time in his saphire cossie through the twisty bits.....They took the floorpan from the fiesta and made the puma dont forget and they handle really well too..

The Puma was based on the mk4 fiesta platform and was much improved over the mk3a the RS1800 was based on.
