172 Wheels & Spaces

  1.6 16v
I'm fitting my 172 wheels on my 1.2 thats lowered -60mm.

Will i need spaces as it is pretty close to my suspension shock??

What do you think??

I've just put near side front on and noticed its pretty close.

When the wheel is turned with my hand it is not grinding against it but it just feels close.

Just fitted the rear and its touching the suspension beam at the back! :(

Which spacers would you suggest? and how much? and what size?

Cheers Steve

  Breaking A 172 Replica
Offset of dynamique alloys - 38

Offset of 172 ff alloys - 48

Based on that you would be looking at a 10mm spacer.

I would say anything between 5 and 10mm.

If you decide on 5 I have a pair of 5mm spacers for sale.

I just bought a full set of four FK 10mm hubcentric spacers complete with longer bolts and locking bolts for 107.45 delivered, havent got them fitted with my 172 alloys yet as i want to lower it first. Just bought a Tom Tom so everything has been put on hold for now.

Hubcentric ones will have a 60.1mm hole in the middle to fit snugly around a clio axle. Anything over 10mm and these should be used imo

Universal ones have a bigger mounting hole and as such fit a variety of cars. Up to 5-8mm is apparently ok, with little risk of wheel "wobble"

Whether you need longer bolts or not depends on the size, up to 5mm you might be ok, anything more and you'd definately need longer bolts added.

Thats not what you want. Have you still got your dynamique wheels?

I will have the same problem as you. So if we go to FCS on our dynamique wheels, when we get back, we may be able to sort out a group buy with Russ - gasperformance?

no i wouldnt trsut 2mm take into account bumps on corners etc and wheel movment at speed, imo get a 5mm spacer

There is 6mm clear on the front and 8mm on the rear with a 5mm spacer.

What do you think now??

It seems ok when driving it but not driven it far!
