People on here say very slightly but its meant to be a nightmare to do, iirc I think you have to take the front end of the car to bits possibly even lower the subframe or something in order to fit it, I think someone said it can take 4-5 hours and you will be lucky to gain 2-3 bhp, don't hold me to this I'm no expert just what I remember reading, the only thing I'm sure of is the gains arnt good because I was going to do it my self and chose not to as I didn't think it was worth it m8
Cheers jonny think that's made my mind up on that, defo be giving that a miss lol my mechanic would hate me making him spend 4-5 hours just to change a manifold. Iv heard a couple of people say they got quite noticeable gains from doing it, but a lot of the time I take no notice as they also say there achieving nearly 200 BHP on a n/a engine lol. Cheers for the heads up bud
Like I said m8 don't hold me to it but I'm sure its quite a big job because the labour cost to fit it is what put me off doing the mod as I'm not good enough or confident enough to do it my self, infact my 182 mani has been lying in my passage for 3-4 months now lol if mine breaks then ill do it but that's the only way I would do it
I did it with lowering the rear of the subrame , just fit it ! You already got it. Just do it on a ramp , it's more fun this way. If your not confident get a manual . And the subframe bolts in the chasis always will spin nuts . Take your time .
Yer I'm thinking I can use the body shop ramp to do it.. Dose anyone no if the 182 manifold fits the 172 decat pipe (2.5") or do u need to change that as well ?
