172 with zero miles

I called the garage, they said send it back to them. Worst thing is last night it stoped working after I stalled the engine, now it just will not start at all. Im gonna send it back to them throw a few peanut's in the boot and wait for them to give it back to me working. once it runs I can take it to a renault specialist get them to fix their bodge jobs and sew them the difference.

Good idea?

id go to a small claims court. get renault to do the rest or send it to somewhere reliable who will give you a NEW engine and not a piece of turd.

Well sort of....

You said it was an 80 mile trip, and now it won't start, gonna take a while.

You need to express the gravity of the situation, both legally and the fact that it is'nt working to bring it back. Put the ball in their court to pick it up, or it will be a court appearance...

As above don't get bent over, they've charged you silly money for a far below standard job no way can you let them get away with it.

Tell them to get a new head, use a proper headgasket, replace the rounded bolt etc or you're taking them to court, don't settle for bs excuses because as soon as the court papers land on their doorstep they'll know you're not pissing about.

Ring the credit card company , see where you stand with the, they may be able to withdraw the payment.....

I did this a few years back on a T.V that the shop were refusing to sort out a week after i had brought it, rand the credit card company and explained and they withdrew the payment... my tv was soon sorted :approve:

Thank you all for your help, what would I do without you.
I'll keep you updated,
Bash.
