172 wont start

I have read a few posts via the search and all seem to come up with mainly the same thing, immobiliser tdc sensor and throttle position sensor etc

Basically its turning over fine, will start most of the time then bang doesnt work again, Last week i disconnected the battery for 20 mins and it started fine when reconnected again but thats not working this time!!

any ideas?​

no really no, I have just got it working although I have no idea what I have done, I pulled the air box out and had a look all the wires I could see/touch and just made sure everything looked ok. The alram sensor for the bonnet was unplugged however Im sure its f all to do with that!!

i had a similar problem on my 1.4, it turned over and would start occasionally but usually wudnt.
Turns out it was the crank sensor, it was busted and not always telling the car it was ok to start
Worth getting it checked

chech the Earth on your starter motor, mine was turning over sometimes would start, m8t pushed it in properly job done, still going 2day *touch wood*

spent enough on it cam belt aux belt refurbed gearbox clutch more than full service history and it repays you by fuckin up like this!!!
