any help much appreciated

you sure you got xenons mate? most other drivers are always adjusting their rear view mirror in front of me cause they are so bright.

or just get your levelling sensor checked to see if the lights are pointing where they should be.

Are the lenses dirty/muddy? When I don't wash the car I can't see f**k all cause of dirt over the headlights.

With the xennons they should light up the road as good as daylight itself almost, no?

Got the same problem with my 182 got Xenons they seem bright enough just dont light up enough of the road ahead.

To put this into perspective my brothers Saxo Vtr with no Xenons are miles better :S

you just need them adjusted they will be pointing down at the road just because they auto level doesnt mean that they are right to start with !!

mine where poor - so I adjusted them manually via the white allen key adjuster - 5mm maybe - a little fiddly - I did it on the drive lights shinning against the garage door - you can see the beam lift.

Made such a difference - you'll notice signs & plates lighting up.

U'll know if you go too high. no prob with MOT pre & post change

i cant see f**k all with mine either, my 1.2 16v was much better with upgraded bulbs and that was lowered -90mm lol i rarely ever used full beam on that, but always flicking it on and off on the 172

I was sitting in mine tonight and noticed the "yellowness" of the full beam compared to the "xenon" of the main beam.

Is this right? :S
Do we need to fit aftermarket bulbs for a "whiter" full beam light, just as we do with the standard headlights?

I know what you mean mate. They are good xenons on the renaults but not as bright as others. My wife has a maserati and those xenons are miles better. I would like some brighter bulbs if you can them?

yeh they aren't the best i hav to agree. i went to a garage today and had them checked on the mot testing machine. he said they were spot on, not out of line atall. so can sum1 answer my question as to wether you can buy new bulbs? thanks

4300k is what the standard bulbs are on the 172/182 Phil..

6000k is slightly more blue but give a decent amount of light, probably the best all round.

8000k is quite blue/purple with less light.

10000k is even more blue/purple with even less light than the 8000k.

12000k is just dirty chav, just purple with not much light being produced at all.

Cheers Alan.. I was thinking of going down the 6000k route, powerbulbs don't do them though! Or they don't mention the K-age?!?

Remember i has some 6000k bulbs for my 182, i got rid of the car before i got round to fitting them, a mate of mine had a supply of them a while back but recently hasn't had anything...

They are quite easy to get a hold of tho mate.

Try http://www.xenonshop.co.uk/

They sell the bulbs on their own for £50 each.

The lad that runs/owns it is really helpful via email.
