great car in many ways gets the looks the 172cup did and perhaps a bit more. owned a red 197 tonight, both of us two up past 80 i mullard it but its cornering was as good if not quicker.

anyways id recommend that people give them a second look, there nicer in the flesh and the pull from the turbo is pretty mad actually takes you from a mundane 30mph upto 70mph just so quickly you just know its a licence loser.

cheers

Nice.

Just what I'd like next. Maybe the 5 door version, then I'd be able to justify the purchase to the missus. We've got a micra and a 172 at the moment. Not big cars to have with a young family.

225 bhp aswell eh?

Mmmmm........

Looks magic meggerman.

lovely car mate,

get a massive front mounted intercooler, turn the boost up and remap it :)

Lovin that mate.......If i had the doller a meg 225 (preferably a trophy) would be my first choice over anything else!!!

Love em!!! :approve:

going from a cup to this isnt a disapointment, mine doesnt feel really all that heavy and the suspension is so well damped too even though rock hard. power is ace though like i said a real licence loser theres no 60 on the speedo just 50 then 70 the time it takes between these two points is almost zero.

i always said when i first drove a boggo 2ltr 3dr megane that the chassis was better than the clios

thats a familiar clio megger!! ;) looking good mate. look after it and hope to see you at some meets soon!!

Ive decided that anyone that thinks this car is ugly is a moron lol..

meg225-3.jpg

I am a moron then, I love the car from some angles, looks ok (hate the bit of bit that sticks out after the rear quarter light) above and looks fantastic from the front then I see why I can never buy one...

I see pictures like this posted - Shots like that showing the rear window and boot jutting out are so unflattering. ( looks like a train front end on the back of a car or something to me!) I fell in love with the Black one at Goodwood and the RWS seris on both occassions until I walked round the back and saw it in the flesh and it gets no better in real life. Sends me limp everytime.

Enjoy the car - 3/4 quarters of it look good!

Very nice, went out in a 225 cup the other day, very fast, and pulls like a train in every gear.

Massive amounts of torque steer if you nail it, couldn't get the hang of it :dapprove:

LED lights fitted...

inside the car the recaro seats are very comfy indeed and the build quality is also great no rattles on even broken roads, the most amazing thing is the ride its firm but never crashy on a par if not better with my dads audi S-line A4 quattro.

as for the looks, in the flesh its much better than pics ive had 4 people stop me so far and comment in just two days and unfortunatley had some gipo`s eyeing up the car also :(

has lots of little touches, even the cup has electric folding mirrors. notice the iluminated card slot lol i love stuff like that

likin that alot, not fancy a trophy spec?

whats a trophy spec ?

cup doesnt miss anything of any use especially if you get recaros. its the lightest varaint anyhoo which is what i was after, still got the aircon and all other goodies but also being a cup it does without the pesky and ultra flimsy tyre preasure sensor monitors which reno charge £60-80 to fix and wont cover under warenty ! having said that the lastest megs/lagunas are coming without them now so renault must have conceded.

its quick, i realed in a vx220 yesterday had me 4 lengh rolling from 40-80 at 110 it was 2 lenghs 120 i could pass, went round some bends and OMG those vx`s can handle well but off the roundabout i lost 3 lenghs only to regain the gap using the mad 3rd gear pull of the meg. in the end i was only two lenghs behind both of us driving really hard both two up. thumbs up from the vx driver + his gf and thumbs from me and my bro.
was a turbo btw !
