Evening guys. Long time, no see.
The bullet is still in my possesion (just) and has failed its MOT on a few niggly points today, 1 being the N/S rear bearing.
I first changed the rear bearing about 3 months ago after it gave way spectacularly around a roundabout and ended with the rear wheel having 2 inches of lateral movement.
The old bearing literally fell off. At the end of the stub axle was a washer with a tapered lip which I assumed should be there but I couldn't remember how it should sit at rebuild time.
I fitted the washer flush to the back of the stub axle with the taper pointing towards the wheel sitting inside the new bearing. This bearing died abut 4 weeks later.
I rebuilt it again but the new bearing has now gone.
Can someone confirm the correct configuration and also the correct torque setting.
Thanking you.
