17cm speakers in m3 clio

hiya guys,



probably been brought up before but I want to know specifically if it is possible to fit 17cm phase linear audiofile 6s in the front doors of a 2003 renault clio? more info on speakers here

Yep it a hell of a lot of work! Im puttin 17cms in my Mk1 Clio. Going to use a very similar method to the one mailto:m@thew">m@thew used.

Its easy to fit the speakers in the car have a look at this picture

these are soon to be replaced though with better made fibreglass and wooden pods that will point the music directly up into the persons face rather than the kick well.

it does take a fair bit of work, nothing too stressful though

be careful though as the door cards are very easy to destroy/crack/snap

depending on the mounting depth of the mids you may need to make some mdf spacer rings, another easy job, but be careful here as it is very easy to foul the speaker grille that attaches to the door card by using mdf that is too deep

when installed though the sound does appear to be more crisp than when using 5.25" comps, well worth the haslsle IMO
