17s On RT

Rightio People, gonna put some nice shiny 17s on my RT AGAIN! but i will be using some 195/40/17 size tyres so i dont av an arch problem!

If the 17s come with 205s on em would it be alright to bring em down to 195s?

If i jus put 195s on the back and kept the 205s on the front would it be alright?

would a particular offset keep the tyres away from my rear arch lip?

the bigger the offset the further IN they will be........

i personally wouldnt put the wider tyres on the front............keep it even

you can get a set of 17s at Motor World at the moment for £499.96, and thats WITH tyres..........205/40/17

you could have the tyres taken off and sell them on ere.......youd get £100 for the set id have thought easy, meanin the wheels only cost £400

yea but then i would av to fork out £240 for a new set of 195s

as ive jus has a full respray i dont really fancy smashin my archs

say i got a stupidly big offset like 42+ would it have a negetive effect on the car?

have you got coilovers ?

youd get away with 42 id have thought on coilovers............thing is most packages come with 205/40/17 and are for the most common offsets, a set of wheels in a particular offset and with diff tyres than normal is gonna bump the cost up quite a lot

oh an how low are you ?.........id recommend gettin 16v arches for 17s, my 15s can rub at times cos of how low i am at the front....

no jus 40mm lowerin springs

ive had 17s on before with 205 tyres, the front wheel were fine jus the rears caught the arch lip and ended up rippin em outwards

the 195/40/17 tyres are £81 each

ive now got 16v archs on the front and shaved the bumper so 17s wont be a problem there its jus the rears im worried about
