18 and need insurance help on a Valver

well im 18 just about to turn 19 got a year and a bit drivin behind us but was on me mums insurance...and now im lookin to upgrade to a valver....ive looked on loads and loads of insurance sites and ive been gettin qwotes like....3 Grand..:boring: .... ive stupidly got 3points...sooo im guesing thats bumpin it up! but a while ago i got qwotes like 1800fully comp and 1600 TPFT...dont mind payin that much coz 4 my 1.2 its 1400 fully comp.... Can u pleae tell us if u were insured on a valver at the age of 18 and the price and who u insured by!! If i wait till im 19...will that make a difference to the price...

Gd gd much better quote! Elephant seem to be good esp on valver insurance. I found alot of insurance comps told me "bye" when I told them what I wanted to insure.

Try Bell mate. They are giving me the best quote by miles for when I will have had my license a year (early december - I just turned eighteen last week). I would definately get a quote with them mate as I will be taking a policy out with them in December.

Im guessing elephant will be best for you tbh. Trust me I tried around 35 insurance comps!

May be worth give sainsburys a go tho (They were cheaper then elephant for me but didnt like mods one bit, so if you plan to mod then elephant it is)

Did you have an older female on that? I thought it would be cheaper as I will be able to get valver insurance from them for about £1200 (I think it was about that) when I have had my license a year.

yeee well i did it 4 me self.. with me 3 points then i changed it so my mum was a second driver and then it went down to 1700 ish..

Elephants excess is no more then 250.00 (well thats the highest it went with me)

That will probably be a voluntary excess. You would also have to pay a standard exess of about £100 and with a lot of companies a youg drivers excess of £100 or so which means in reality you would have to pay about £450 excess and if you are paying monthly you would have to pay the reminder of your policy.

the more owners quotes, the better the database becomes at renewal time...
it won't stop you shopping around but it'll let you know who everyone else is getting the best deal from.

Don't really think theres much point going fully comp on a valver TBH

I pay £800 age 23 but mines far from standard with points and a sh1t postcode
