182 12K Service??

Just been quoted a few prices for this, which are around the £200 mark!
Spoken to the main garage near me and stated that i wanted to supply my own oil (which is elf exillium). They have told me that i need to sign a disclaimer and that they will knock £30 for using my own oil! £30!! what do these people use chip fat oil normally?
The general attitude's of the service desk people is shocking, as regards to thier manner and understanding of what service it is they are supposed to be providing!
Any one else had to sign a disclaimer for using thier own oil??

I'll let you know! Mines going in next week for the same service...they quoted £216 including £55 for the oil. Have also got my own which they said was no problem so am expecting them to knock £55 off!! No disclaimer mentioned! That dealer sounds particularly bad...did they say what else they will do as mine just said renew oil/oil filter and pollen filter! I thought the air filter should be changed at 12K too......?

To far away for me to travel! Us northern folk are tired of mentioning the fact that there are no specialists up here! Seems to be falling on deaf ears though! I ended up booking my car in for this sat morning £135 + vat and that is with them supplying the elf oil! Result!
I will just keep the oil i have and make another change at 18k!

MJA, are you bolton way??? Might be able to sort you a deal out with AC (Wigan), as have a friend who works.

Why not try Silkolene Pro S or Motul 300V. Both 5w40 fully synthetic and better (by all accounts) than Elf. I'm running Silkolene and it warms up quicker, better response, better MPG etc. Also as long as you use Reno parts you can have your 12k service anywhere you flippin like.
I used GDI near Cambridge (£152 + VAT) and they put Silkolene in anyway. Bit of a hike for you though, but worth it I'd say. Sounds like you've got a good price anyway.

Wish i had of known sooner mate i would of maybe sorted goin to arnold clarke for that much! The £135 they have quoted me is supposed to be because im pals with the used car sales manager there! No worries its not like im payin £200 like most end up doing!

its £160 ish inc VAT

we use silkoline as its worry free and works well.... we could make more if we used std grade 10w40 semi, but you guys like to drive hard (so do we) so Silkoline is the only way to go to protect the engine properally.

Well if you was closer andy i wouldnt hesitate in bringing it to you guys! Next time i will maybe plan for a trip down to you with other engine mods in mind for you to sort as well

The recommended interval for changing the air filter is 24,000 miles . Personally i'd change every 12,000 miles as part of the service , or better still buy one yourself or an itg panel filter and change it yourself . Only 2 mins of a job .

i would change the air and pollen at 12k, its inc in our service package.

bearing in mind most of the clios we come accross are not driven "gently" better oil and more regular filter changes are required...! ;-)
