Hi, as a newbie I need the Black Gold and Pearl black cleared up too.

I've a Ph2 172 thats black, but in the sun you can see Gold flakes.

So does Pearl Black have a gold metallic look to it? or am I just blind and wearing my gold contacts again?

Mine has gold flakes when the sun hits it, just don't have any pics at work

My pearl black never had gold flakes!!!! Had spectraflake, i.e Tiny bits of metalic.

yeah see this is where i get confused. I've had metallic painted cars before and they all gave a very fine silver sparkle, but this is a more chunky flakey sparkle.

nevermind. I'll just settle for calling it black. :S

My paint HAS got gold flakes in it, and it's pearl black.

They are very similar in colour but I do beleive they may be slightly different.

I'm guessing this from respraying the rear bumper on an RSi a while ago and there being about 7 versions of metallic grey that we're all different!!

Pearl Black has a lot more silver flecks in it than the Black Gold.

That Pic you have posted does not look like the ones I have seen of Pearl Black close up.

Take one In the dark, flash, no sunlight. I think its the sun making your flakes gold.

No sun just flash
