182 alarm 4 beeps

  182

I came out to my car last night pressed the key to get in and it bleeped 4 times. I know there has been posts posted regarding the alarm bleeping 3 times, which has never happened to me.

What exactly does the 4 beeps mean when trying to gain entry to the vehicle?

It doesnt say alot in the manual, All i can think of is that my alarm has been activated although i didnt hear anything??????

Help please.

yes, i believe it does mean the alarm was activated, I think you can tell what triggered it by the sequence of the LED inside when you deactivate it.

When I was on the Seacat going to and coming back from Spa mine beeped at me both times I got back to the car and the rocking of the boat must have set it off both times.

this suggests its got a tilt sensor but i didnt think it had.

in the alarm manual it tells you what the sequence of leds flashes mean and what sensor has been activated

when i was cleaning the car on wednesday i banged the rear number plate as it seems to collect alot of water, this set the alarm off, i did not hit it hard just a firm tap... i think it might be safe to say the alarm is very sensitive

but it doesnt have a shock sensor so how can it do this? maybe u nocked the boot shut/closed sensor this is why it went off.

iv not idea why it happened i just "tapped" along the number plate and it went off, i usually have the car unlocked so i can do under the doors and under the boot lid but for some reason i had not unlocked it. ill see if i can do it again the next time i clean it :)

It could be something like a fly inside your car which set the sensors off. Keep an eye on it though.
