182 Alarm Question

Stupid question here, but how do i know if my standard alarm is working and activated when i lock the car? Sometimes i hear a few bleeps when i lock the car but most of the time i do not hear anything.

Any ideas?

Lock it with the windows open and then wave your hands through the windows.

You generally only hear a beep if a door/boot/bonnet isn't shut properly.

yeah, the 3beeps on locking is a common fault..

test your alarm by leaving windows open and locking the car, if i do it after about 5 minutes my alarm will go off..or as pete says, wave hands through the window.

Ah yes that sounds like it. Is this a hard fix for renault to do? Will they need the car for long?
