182 at the dealer now.

  Clio 197

Hi guys/gals,

If anyone is having a pain with ordering/waiting for a 182 then this might be useful:

Theres a mint, standard 182 in Arctic Blue, with AKS renault in Yeovil. Just traded it in with 12k miles, services. 6mm tread on all wheels.

Woth a pop if you want to save a bit of time and money.

Omar

Did you get a good price for the 225 ? Or did they overallow on the Clio ?

Thinking of making the move myself. Cost to change is the main thing

I dont see the 225 prices coming down at all.
People are paying full wack for them, and the dealers know it.
I paid full money too. I expect 500 of that went towards my trade in.

Got a good trade in for my Clio because it was immaculate and they had four customers already lined up for it - simple supply and demand.

Definately worth the money: the build quality is as good as my 02 Audi was, and my dads 02 merc. Fantastic quality and engineering.

I am a little suprised you paid full money. The 225 is widely available with a good £2k off. It even made Autocar this week re the discounts from dealers. This is for UK main dealer cars, unregistered etc.

Drive the deal is quoting £2,700 off - UK car etc

I was going to try and change for £6k. Mines is also a 182, Artic,Cup and 2k on the clock.

2k off is a considerable saving... Depends on what you want I suppose.

I got a good interest rate (saving me money over 4 years), and I will be looked after for servicing (I do 30k a year).

Clio 182s monster fun, but wouldnt pay full price for one. Meganes worth it (think how much the clio V6 sells for). There is so much more thats gone into the megane - its truely worth it.

I got 2k of my Clio, so hopefully it wont hurt too much come disposal. Couldnt do 30k a year in a 182.

How do you find the steering compared to the 182 ?

Do you think it can handle more power ?

Thanks

Jonathan

Steering of 182 is fantastic.

Meganes steering feels far more assisted in comparison (but remember we have been spoiled by the clios steering: most cars gove far less feedback).

I had an A3 1.8T Sport 180 with 245 R17s , which felt rediculously light in comparison to the megane. Ive been driving the Megane since Friday and I am much more used to it.

Remember that Megane is very refined, so very smoothe to drive, and wont be as loud/bumpy/boy racy to drive.

The power is amazing. Somehow, you hardly feel it in a straight line. Doesnt really like power in corners when wet (huge torque can be fun, but can also end your fun quickly). ESP automatically re-engages, so cant tell you what its like without.

Yeah.. somehow re-engages when you start to lose traction (to stop you making a mess of things)....

Not to worry... all this electronic assistance can be looked into (if I really get bored)

Quite pleased though. Very grown-up car. Power is on tap and HUGE!
