182 Coil Pack, Under Warranty?

  Clio 197
Has anyone had a faulty coil pack on their 182?

If so, was it changed under warranty? Did it creep up on you gradually, or did it happen all of a sudden?

Mine decided to go last night. 20 months old, 57k on the clock.

The car was missfiring, popping, banging and vibrating.
The engine warning light then came on... and I lost power.

It was then intermittent on/off etc, and as I pulled into the dealership it all returned to normal! :S

The dealership didn't have a coil pack in stock, so they ordered one for delivery tomorrow AM.

They didn't have any courtesy cars in, therefore I had to go through the AA hoo-harr to get a 24 hour hire car.

Fingers crossed it should all be ready tomorrow, as long as there's nothing else wrong with the car.

Ive had mine replaced but it wasnt quite as violent as that lol.

Mine was just misfiring and i got it done for free but not buy reno it was just the garage i got it from.

Turned out it was the Crankshaft sensor anyway.

At 23k ive had all plugs and leads replaced on my 182 because of water corrosion on 1 or some of the plugs, complete mystery??? Was misfiring all over the place, lights flashing the lot!

^^

Well, it's been changed now.

Apparently cylinder 3 was the problem (I've had issues with cylinder 3 before, when it spat-out a plug).

The service department said that it was still missfiring, and found water and corrosion in all of the cylinders.

They wanted £150 for 4 new plugs (parts & labour) and I told them not to bother.

I got it back, and it was fine... but I changed the plugs just in case they were right.

Hmm... I suspect a faulty injector. That's the only thing they can't diagnose on their computer system.

You could always swop injectors round if you want then chedck your plugs see what colour they are. If another spark plug changes colour when you change the injectors round then you'll need a new one.
