182 cup

  Ph1 172

Jus been an spoke to the sales man at my local dealer. He said that demand for such a raw clio was not high enough. the only thing people wanted on the new 182 was the supreme handling of the 172 cup, hence the cup handling package.

A bit of a shame if you ask me!:(

I think there talking crap and the salesman was a tea boy.

Does anyone remember when the cup was roumered to be getting built.Demand was such it started to outsell the existing 172.

Manafacturers cannot afford to be haisty when it comes to customer demmand to an extent, plus if they get a chance to build another car for similar money with that much extra kit missing theyll be on a winner again.

Plus there will be weight saving and a slight increase in performance again.

Anyone for a sub 6 second cup 182,id like one

Just popped down to the harlow dearlership an found a brand new 172 cup sitting on there forecourt! And guess what they olny want £10995.:)

considering they were £13200 six months ago, cant be a bad deal.

182 would sound like a possibilty. Jeramy has never told us for or against but he wouldnt tell us if one was out would he as it may lower sales for the 182 as people wait. If a 182 Cup wasnt to come out he would have told us.

The Cup was IMO a way of helping sell some more 172 whilst sales were slowing so until the 182 sales fall I think the 182 is going to survive.

A 182 Cup would be released at the end of the 182 life before the new Clio turbo is out in 2005/2006 to help continue high production rates.

A sportier 182 is unlikely to be called a cup as the 182 is already availiable with Cup options so it would be called Riagattia (sp?) or similar.

Calling a 182 a cup would lower the values of the original 172 cup

Funny enough, they only built 300 Ragnottis for the French market and a lot of them just sat at the dealers for a long time and were discounted.

I saw a Swiss registered one at the ring on Friday, and one British Cup yesterday, but they are very rare on the continent.

Just the opposite of the Williams.
