182 cv joint/drives shaft knocking

Hay guys

got a 182 has a knock on the near side front, check today boot is off and shriveled so cv joint is gone.

Question is as its already started knocking can i replace just the cv joint or will i now have to replace the entire N/S driveshaft?

I believe it is a lot easier to just replace the whole driveshaft anyway, something to with the removal of the CV joint. It can be done but quite tricky, replacement driveshafts aren't too much more anyway

The stock large clips on the boots always seem to break, dumping the gease when they do. I'd change it for a jubilee clip while you're fitting the new one.
