I believe it is a lot easier to just replace the whole driveshaft anyway, something to with the removal of the CV joint. It can be done but quite tricky, replacement driveshafts aren't too much more anyway
The stock large clips on the boots always seem to break, dumping the gease when they do. I'd change it for a jubilee clip while you're fitting the new one.
