182 Delivery time/problems

Is anybody having the same problem as me.

ordered 182 (arctic blue and cup packs) at the end of May and was given delivery date of this week (Aug 9th).

Now been told its been pushed back to Sept 9th. The only good thing about that is it will be on the new 54 plate. I understand the factory closes for august , but to be a whole month out on the delivery time seem odd

Would of loved to have had car this week as on hols in n devon next week.

Dont get me started! Ordered mine mid June - went for Racing Blue with Competition Stripes. Was told a week later that delivery was mid August. A week after that was told they cant do stripes. So I said ok change the car to Titanium. A week later they say because you changed the colour delivery will now be mid Sept.

Bulls**t, they hadnt built the car so what difference did the colour change make?!?!

Anyway I dont believe mid Sept at all, I will be lucky if it arrives before November. Oh yeah and they can shove the 54 plate up their a$$! I got well annoyed when the woman said "oh well at least you will have the new number plate", yeah right do I have "vain" tattood on my forehead?!?!? I just want a frickin car not an image.

Also I dont care if a 54 sells for more on the second hand market as I would refuse to sell my car to a dumbass who thinks a car registered at the end of August is worth less than one registered a few days later. If they know that little about cars they can sod off and buy a TT.

Trouble is I have sold my car and am borrowing someone elses old banger on which the MOT will expire mid Oct.... It wont pass. So what the feck am I supposed to do? I would have cancelled my order and bought a CTR by now but you can t get one of those either.

By the way I am in a pi$$ cos I could have gone to a Palmersport track day in a few days time but cant as I aint driving halfway across the country in the 950cc wreck I have at the moment. Thanks a bunch Renault!

er take a chill pill Toypop?

We all experience complications, you were the one that chnaged the order though so it isnt entirely their fault, you could have taken delivery of the racing blue and had the stripes done privately like 95% of all other people have (btw, 56% of statistics are made up)?

My opinion is that you should have stuck with your original order if thats the colour you wanted.

Yeah the more I think about it the more I wish I had stuck with Racing Blue and just kept it stripeless.

My main concern after having just had a black car was how much effort is required to keep the flat colour looking good. Ive done my fair share of weekends breaking my back with the car polish!

I really wanted the blue with stripes but at the same time wanted the maintenance free platinum. I was annoyed when they couldnt do the stripes as they have been advertising them for almost six months now!

Funnily enough I have since gone off them and think the Racing Blue on its own would probably be the best looking colour but too late now! Too many rude boys have started fitting stripes, even saw a Daewoo Matiz with some I kid you not!

I am calming down now...

i see where you are coming from, and the racing blue is actually pretty good at looking clean when it isnt, it does hide the dirt very well, and the reason I havent had the stripes added is partly because of the reason you stated, and also because of the area it is parked in during the week, they would attract the wrong type of attention.

Mine was put back by 2 weeks or so from my original date.It is annoying when you are desperate to get the car.

You are not alone in having the date put back i can assure you !

Hi,

I think they are having problems @ the factory where they are built. I just got message today to say my 225 will be delayed a further month 1st OCT. Thinking I should have bought the Leon cupra R.

At least im not the only one getting frustrated.

Oh well heres to another 4 weeks waiting patiently. I just hope its worth the wait

My car has been at the suppliers compound for 3 weeks, theyve had my money for 2 weeks (ALL of it) & now theyre sorting out paperwork that did/didnt/did/didnt arrive (whoever I talked to on the phone at the time).
I take delivery this coming Saturday - youre not alone in the waiting game mate :)

You are aware that the factory closes for 3 weeks during august. All orders made around this time should come with a months delay warning when ordered. sorry if someone has mentioned this, i couldnt be arsed to read all the posts

See this is weird cos it only seems to be 182/172/cups that have this problem.

I ordered mine (1.2) at the beginning of November 2002 and i had it the 1st week in December. And I had a load of extras which were fitted at the dealership???

Are all the renaultsport models built somewhere else?

When we bought our MKII 172 from the Renault Dealership we were told it would take 6 weeks for a cup or 5 weeks for a normal 172, however they had one in the showroom in the silver and we did not want the Cup version so we did not have to wait, but they told us the wait is due to them being built to order as they do not tend to build an excess stock like them normal Clios, do not know how true that was.

Alpine Dieppe. It manufactures Clio Renault Sport 2L, Clio V6 and Mégane II Renault Sport, as well as racing vehicles in small series.

The Flins plant is one of Renault’s oldest French plants. Since 1952, it has manufactured more than 17 different models for a total output of more than 15 million vehicles. Today, as well as producing Renault’s two entry-level cars – Twingo and Clio – it makes parts for other Renault sites and for Nissan.

When I got my 172 in Nov 01 I had to wait 2 EXTRA months for it, really frustrating, I see Renault have a problem with supply and demand
