2004 182
Hi all, if you have a moment, I would love it if you would take a look/listen at the below.
Is this a dephaser pulley that's gone/is going?
Would the noise travel along the cams? Doesn't sound diesely yet in my opinion and no noise is coming from the pulley itself it would seem.
Car is a 2004 on 88k, 519 Automotive did the pulley, cambelt and aux belt at 68k, could it have gone again already?
It's running with oil that is due a change (not ancient), brand new plugs I fitted at the weekend in case one was loose, the noise was apparent before I changed pugs (didn't do oil at the time as forgot to order sump plug, doh) and a lifter cleaner prior to oil change as I thought this may help.
Happy to get the pulley done, a specialist nearby has quoted £450 for belt, water pump and pulley, plus the PAS pump needs changing at the same time at £195 for pump and auxbelt/tensioner kit, but not if it's not likely to be that.....
Do the lifters/valves/tappets fail on these engines?
Thanks in advance, Ian
