182 engine oil query

I have a 182 and know its 5w-40 oil thats recommended but i can get 4L mobil 1 oil (0w-40) at costco for £23 would this stuff be ok to use????

No, basically and youll need more than 4L too!
They take about 4.5 ish. so ull need 5L

soz for that price i,m gonna buy 2 and that will leave plenty for top ups i was more the 0w-40 question mate

yeah 0W40 is fine, better cold weather protection (i forget the figures, but its fine down to something daft like -20degC)

I once asked my Renault garage what they put in and they said Mobil 1 0W-40. They wanted to charge me over 80 quid for 5 litres though lol.

Well got the oil it is 0w-40 super syn mobil 1 came in 4L so bought 2 and it came to £46 (a bargin i think) so oil and filter change tomorrow with a few litres for future top-ups

Well done the oil change today thank god i did the oil in it was BLACK and i have only done 5-6K since i bought the car and they gave it a service the day before i got it ,they must have used Sh*ty oil. I,ve done about 20 miles since the change and noticed a difference right away idle noise etc would highly recommend Mobil1 super syn.

You should try some flush type stuff with the next change if its been neglected, should help get some of the sh1t out.

"engine flush" is a massive no no in my book!! a) its not cheap, and b) it causes more harm than good

they never changed the oil on that so called service when buying it. Would'nt be black like you say

Well the night before i got it i took a run down with my father-in-law to see it and it was up on the ramp with a oil catching tin with the old filter lying on the ground so i know it was done......so thats why i couldn,t believe how black it was after only doing 5-6K....probs used any shi*y oil they had.

I'm not a big fan of flushing oils either, id rather just change it with some cheap oil and flush it out a week or so later with some decent oil. But in all honesty in most applications you would be fine just checking the new stuff in straight away
