182 exhaust on 172

  2008 Golf GTI Edition 30

You would have to remove the spare well housing and flatten the boot floor.

So.... No its not worth it. It also sounds no difference.

I had a Reno tech tell me my 172 + K-Tec Twin 3" sound better than the 182!

Wats a good alternative for both power and sound ?
A K-Tec sports cat and any decent aftermarket zorst, but if you want twin tailpipes like a 182 youll need to cut the boot floor off and get a custom (Powerflow) system made up...

had a cup in at work with an ascar custom made twin exhaust system.wasnt as far in as the 182 pipes but that isnt possible with the spare wheel well in place.the 182 gains from the exhaust point of view are due to the manifold/cat design anyway.these gains can be easily matched with the k-tec cat and a decent system on the 172 anyway.

the 182 rear section is just like 2 normal clio back boxes joined together.its a good job they improved the front half because that rear section wont be doing it any favours.looks like they spent 5mins designing the rear part.
