182 head on a 172 bottom end

Can it be done? My 172 head is toast, 16 bent valves. I have a nice 182 head with rocker cover, but the 172 intake is different to the 182.

Can I put the 172 rocker cover on the 182 head?

Rocker covers aren't transferable mate

I'm selling some 182 inlets if that's all you're missing. Head bolts straight on to bottom end

You need to try it. Some of them are transferable.

Could you not just switch the valves and rockers / followers over from your 182 engine or is the actual head itself knackered ?

you CAN swap the rocker cover (its frowned upon by some), but you must check the cams rotate ok first
