When I had my 172 I went in to book it in for some work. The Cup had just come out and one was parked out front. I said to the service guy "Ive only had this 3 months but I quite fancy a Cup" he replied "is that the Blue one parked outside".

the misses used to have a Xsara 1.8 16V VTR coupe (rare cos VTS spec. and almost as expensive new - we bought half price with 10K miles!)

Reporting a power steering fluid leak

ha, its not even like it only happens cos its a new model! I went up to a dealer to get a new rubber centre cap for a GT Turbo steering wheel;

q: "hi, im after a rubber steering wheel centre cap for a GT Turbo"

a: "what make and model of car is that sir?"

Felt like saying "its a f**king renault 5 aka one of the hothatch legends of the past 20 years...take an interest FFS!!"

to be honest because they work in renault parts or whatever, they might not know anything about Renault! theyll just type the info into a PC and away!

The parts department at coventry, 2 of them are thick as f**k. an asian bloke and a young white bloke with a brown bouffant if anyone is familiar with them...

Went to get CV gaiter for my old RT and when he handed it to me it said R19 on the packet. i told him i had a clio with power steering but he was adamant that it was the right part.

so i went home and tried it anyway but obviously no luck. Went back and he said it was the only one they stock so i got a refund and went to a non-renault specialist to get it, who got the right part straight away

i took my clio to a renault dealer for its 2nd service and asked them if they wouldnt mind lookin at my cd player coz it wasnt working right, and if poss. fix it!

simple task eh?

after the service they said your right, it doesnt work

and itll cost £230 to put in a new 1
